Pastor E. A Adeboye steps down as Pastor Joseph Obayemi steps up!
It has been confirmed that the popular General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been mandated to resign.
This is following order from the Nigerian government that every religion leaders should step down after a successful completion of 20years in office. But according to the spokesman for the Church, it has been acclaimed that this decision is only within the confinement of the Nigerian boundary and not applicable to the world, as the church has been established in most parts of the countries of the world like America, UK, South Africa, amongst others, that he is still the world wide recognised General Overseer of the popular church.
He made the announcement on Saturday, December 7, as his members and all the lovers of the man of God were stunned since they were not expecting such a shocking move by the world renowned leader.
Pastor Adeboye became the GO of the RCCG in 1991 and at age 74 (after more than two decades in the same post), he decided to allow a 'fresh blood' in the frame of Pastor Joseph Obayemi, to take the mantle of leadership from him in Nigeria while he remains the worldwide leader of the ministry.
