Man beat wife for showing interest in politics

Francis Waithaka, the CEO of Digital4Africa, who shared the photo on twitter, Eunice Leshunet from Kenya was assaulted by her husband because she declared her interest in running for a senatorial seat in 2017.

Is this really not violation of human rights? Or should we consider African culture.. wife must be submissive to her husband.
